  1. simply putting the information out there, since I am frustrated at the self-censorship of most of the American media.

  4. You know what...The cartoons are not outright hilarious hold-my-stomach-and-die-laughing funny...

I only liked the last one...

So..What is the big deal? Why is half the world going to war over these?

  5. If it's not a big deal, then why do you disapprove of it? Small deals usually aren't worth disapproving of.

Yeah, the cartoons aren't funny. The point of them was to draw Mohammad, precisely because it wasn't allowed. It was an assertion of the right to free speech, a refusal to practice self-censorship. THAT is a big deal, something worth reminding people about periodically through activities like this one.

  6. All Im saying is.. its pathetic that an entire generation of youth goes to war over some cartoons and yet noone some much as raises a voice when the fundamentalists (who of course ahem, don't represent the feelings of the entire community) commit heinuous crimes against humanity.

Why won't they go up-at-arms when it counts?

  7. Hey Nandini

Did you know that the Danish guys had no idea that 'drawing Mohammed' was not allowed by Islam? Not until the controversy had been started.

And ofcourse the bloody rioting jobless nuts all over the world are not realising that 'these images' were not going to promote idolatry (the reason y you cant draw Mohammed).

Also that by rioting and making a big issue out of it, they have lead to billions more copies of these Mohammed images.

So, this is not a fight between Islam (for all those who claim to follow a faith dont get to dictate the values of that faith) and Free Speech (for the Danish cartoonist did not intend represent free speech - his editor had once refused a Jesus cartoon - he was just trying to have a laugh)
