Is this supposed to be a compliment?
You Are 25 Years Old |
25 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. |
Oooh, Look, it's Kramer!
You May Be a Bit Schizotypal ... |
A bit odd and socially isolated. You couldn't care less of what others think. And some of your beliefs are a little weird. Like that time you thought you were Jesus. |

The Week From Hell
1. Wednesday: lost my cell phone. Yep. Shoot me, right now. Just before I walked into my Wednesday morning class, I set the phone on vibrate mode. After class, I went to work, and at work I realised I didn't have my phone with me. Checked the bloody classroom, about a hundred different lost&founds...
2. And now, we have some PASSPORTS missing.
The boyfriend sent both our passports by mail to the French Consulate in NYC last weekend, so we could get our Schengen visas. The package should have got there in 2-3 days, but no delivery confirmation yet. Needless to say, a lot of affected parties are freaking out. There's a chance we might not be able to make it to our own wedding. :s
Theists: this is your cue. Please pray.

Money, honey.
If you (a) can write and (b) have something halfway decent to say, I've got news for you!
Go to the Associated Content site. Register for a 'content provider' account. (There's a box there asking you who recommended you, and if you click on my name and publish 5 articles, I get money. :D) And then you just write whatever you want - reviews, opinions, whatever, just like in your blog.
If the content you create is even sorta ok, your writing gets bought, you get paid. Anywhere between $10 and $80.
I just found out about this today, and added a couple of articles - blogging has its benefits... I just pulled off two random reviews from this blog and submitted them. I'll update once I've been accepted to let you know how much they paid. Not bad eh.

Summary Executions
From Livejournalist McTabby comes this selection of HP fanfic summaries.
Choice picks from Summary Executions XXVII: (Yes, McTabby has 27 collections. So far.)
1. After a accident in Potions, Harry Potter and Dean Thomas find themselfs in 1975! What can a boy and a girl do while they tries to find a way home to 1995?
The situation is explained in the author's notes. Harry had an accident during Potions and turned into a girl. Bet you didn't see that coming.
2. Hermione goes to do her homework in the Astronemy tower late at night, what will happen after she slips and falls of the edge of the tower? (better than it sounds! believe me!)
3. Hrrry is raised by lions. Typical right? Not when Harry grows up in Africa, never knowing his ture heritage...
I want to read all those other fics that apparantly feature Harry being raised by lions.
McGonagall: Albus, you can't leave him here with these... animals!
Dumbledore: He is better off growing up as far away as possible from our world.
4. James isn't Harry dad Voldemort is. Lilly is a pureblood while her sister is a squid. Dumbledore makes Lily marry James to make everyone think Harry's is James. They could not fool Voldemort.
No, Voldemort is not easily fooled. He caught on when he saw Petunia's tentacles.
5. A story of pain and sorrow, not intented for comfort or laughter...a story that remains untold, on of abuse and blood...telling of a shattered girl who learned to twist a heart of stone into one of warm gold. This is not a story for the faint of heart, nor the happy in spirit. But for those who are able to understand what it means to be hurt...to watch as a girl's spirit is shattered like glass upon concrete. Watch as she melts the young master's heart of ice, and watch as she helps him heal. She has no name, but his...is SeƱor Draco.
*Theme from Zorro plays in the background*
6. Life is really just a rainbow of colours that make up our lives. (Contains rape, violence, and teen pregnancy. You have been warned.)
Oh yeah. Consider me warned.

Meme
I didn't think I had Slytherin qualities, not much, and as for Gryffindor - I could laugh! I thought I was a bit of a Ravenclaw and not much else. But the description here's really accurate, and the quiz wasn't transparent at all... so have a go!
You're a Slytherdor! You are a natural leader and have the personality to back it up. Often people are hesitant to approach you because they feel that you will reject them. You have a bit of a temper but most of the time you're able to keep it in check; however when you are really pissed off, people better watch out. In your life you have a lot of things you want to accomplish, whether it's for yourself or another cause. You can be determined in trying to pursue this goal but your morals are too steady to allow you to be absolutely ruthless. You don't let many people know this, but you actually like the idea of chivalry (but you try to keep this buried) and you try to live your life with honor. You don't back away from tough decisions. Your weakness is that sometimes you can be arrogant, you forget about the 'lesser people' and this leads you to underestimate your opponents. With the charisma of a Gryffindor and the ambition of a Slytherin you can be great in life!

A Whole Hour Gone
So the clocks have moved forward (or back, depending on how you think of it) 1 hour. It should be 2:15 p.m. now, but it's 3:15 p.m. instead. On Sunday, I slept till 10:30 a.m. despite only actually sleeping till 9:30 a.m. As if my life wasn't confusing enough already.
Now, I get why in summer-time it makes sense to make the clocks such that we have more daylight in the evening. Sure. Go ahead. What I don't get is why we have to bloody go and change the clocks back again in winter. Who cares if the sun isn't fully up when you're driving to work at 7 a.m.? Millions of people in Singapore manage, simply because they want to keep up with Hong Kong, time-wise, and I don't see why Americans can't.
But arbitrarily losing a whole hour has put me in a ruminative mood.
Everyone is so concerned with moving TIME back and forth, nobody ever thinks that maybe they should move other things back and forth... like CALIFORNIA for instance. Californians get so weird all by themselves on the west coast, and I think they could benefit greatly from moving to the east for half the year... provided Florida gets moved somewhere else like Canada, which would save the speedo clad Canadians a lot of time and money. Or we could put both of them in the same place for half a year, because mixing Florida and California would... well, it would just put all the weirdness in one place. It's no less arbitrary than changing time around, what.
How about we arrange the Red (Republican) and the Blue (Democrat) states so that the aerial view would be a big smiley face? Or maybe just mix 'em up and make purple everywhere. Think about it: the United States of Barney. I'm sure they would be a lot saner for the mixing, anyway.
